This oak is a bit hard to find, it stands on a forested
slope on the small estate of Nagel in the northern
hills of Bavaria. It is difficult to make good pictures
of it. But once found it is worth while: it is a very
impressive oak with an enormous, sound trunk with deep
fissured bark. The roots grip out widely over the slope,
the tree has a sound crown and a height
of at least 27 m. The location seems to have been an
old place for public meetings and judgement.
